X-Service! Durham Rescue Mission

The Durham Rescue Mission has been providing aid to the homeless for many years. Did you know that they recently experienced a terrible loss of food due to a fire? Read the complete story.

Please plan to bring a grocery bag of food or a monetary donation to our next X-Event!, Old School Field Day, on Saturday, April 28th. We would love to help fulfill this need by sponsoring an aXcess food drive. All types of food can be used: canned meats, all types of canned vegetables, fruits, soups and staple items such as sugar, flour and cornmeal. Monetary donations are also welcomed.

If for some reason you cannot attend that event but would like to donate food please contact Jaimie Mewborn at 252-559-9180. We will arrange a time to drop-off the food.Thank you, aXcess, for your willing heart to serve our community in need.

Old School Field Day, April 28th 2-6pm

This Saturday Afternoon GAMES START AT 2:15pm.

Drive into the Lake Crabtree Park entrance and follow signs to the Dogwood Shelter. Check in there to sign up for teams and events.

$5 Admission.

We'll be serving dinner from the grill around 5pm.

We're planning an Old School Field Day complete with wheelbarrow races, 100 yard dashes, tug of war and more hard boiled eggs than you can toss a softball at.

We'll put you on a team when you arrive and the group with the most points at the end wins the day. .

Not into dodgeball or ultimate frisbee? Can't stomach the bloodthirsty volleyball rematch of Wrightsville Beach, 2006?

No worries! Just bring your lawnchair to chill underneath the shelter and meet new people. We'll be at Lake Crabtree so the scenery will be beautiful!

For a little extra, you could even find yourself in a boat race before dinner.

Lake Crabtree is located off I-40 at Exit 285 at 1400 Aviation Parkway Morrisville, NC 27560

In case of bad weather, a rain plan will be posted on the blog.

Email Kristin kristinmichelle2@gmail.com if you want to be added to the Evite list.

X-Seminar! Relationships: Friday, Jan. 26th: 7:30pm

This isn't a tribute to Tina Turner.

This is not one of those cheesy relationship talks for teens.

This is not for college students either.

This is for adult singles who care about what God says about dating, engagement and marriage.

This is about real life, real relationships - God cares about them and so do we. We know this is a touchy subject for many, and so we're asking you to give us a chance. Give us a chance to face the real issues head on, to de-mystify dating, to encourage your heart and even make you laugh.

We have a lot planned for the evening including a discussion forum, so bring your toughest questions.

Ladies, if you can please bring a dessert item to share.
Gentlemen, if you can please bring a beverage to share (2Liter or so)

Come join us Friday, Jan. 26th from 7:30-9:30pm in the King's Park International Church Fellowship Hall. Don't be late, because we're NOT saving the best for last!

X-Service! Life Center Fundraiser Nov. 28-30th

Calling all Servants…

Many of you have been looking for a way to share your time, talents, and creativity to serve. Come out and join X-Service in our Family Photography Session. We will be taking pictures of families at KPIC in front of our beautiful Christmas tree to raise money for the Youth Life Center. We need people who have a knack for photography and access to a digital camera. We need all you tech-folks to help us out with transferring the digital images onto computers and saving them on cds for each family.

Do your talents lie in administration? We have a job for you too; we will need people to be available to direct families to their photographer, collect money, and give families information regarding their cd. Still want to serve but unsure of your abilities in these areas? That’s okay you can smile and smiles are contagious! Each photographer will need an assistant to help keep those smiles going especially with the younger children so they can concentrate on taking the pictures.

Email our service coordinator, Jaimie, with your time availability and area of interest. jnmewborn@yahoo.com

Family Dinner: Friday, November 24th 6:00pm

"I can't cook a Thanksgiving dinner. All I can make is cold cereal and maybe toast." Charlie Brown

If you can relate and cooking for yourself seems a little overwhelming, come and give thanks with your King's Park aXcess Family. We'll be gathering together in Morrisville at Indigo Clubhouse. We are doing this potluck style and feel free to invite your friends.

RSVP to Kim kimikai14@gmail.com how many people you invite and the food you plan to bring. We'd also be excited to hear about any special holiday traditions, favorite games, or holdiay movies (Indigo has a big screen TV) you'd like to share with the group.
